English as global language

 

English has been referred to as the Lingua Franca, the global language of the modern world, since it is the dominant international language in communication.

It also explores the field of science, aviation, education, entertainments, business, politics and mass media. English has enormously spread due to the influence of the British empire.

Even though English is an Indo-European West Germanic language from England,it's the first language of about 375 million people in the world. Countries like Briton,USA, Canada, Australia,New Zealand, and Ireland are included in this category. More than 75 countries has accepted English as official language. English has been considered as global language just after the USA has emerged as economic and cultural super power since world war II. Working knowledge of English has become a basic requirement in all the main Fields. Consequently,over a billion people speak English atleast into a basic level.
