Introduction
An early stage is very crucial in the growth and development of children, especially to learn the difference between right and wrong. Occasionally, punishment is necessary to help them learn it's distinction inspite of the fact that it would never break the limits of physical and mental health.
Role of Adults in early stages
Since, children are too young to differentiate the right and wrong in the early stages, the proper intervention of parents, other adults in the family and the teachers are necessary at this point. Over pampering may spoil the quality of children and on such occasions minimum level of punishment is essential in the form of entrusting some special duties at home and school, denial of their special demands at that time and assigning works like cleaning their belongings of their own etc.
How does it functions?
Parents,teachers and other adults in their close circle should set a good example for them. Here's the effort of righteous parenting reflects. It's very crucial in this stage. Even though punishment is an unavoidable thing,it shouldn't be in the form of physical hurt, beating, physical and mental abuse etc. Furthermore, Adults should be aware of the defects of such mode of punishments. It has to be in a healthy way to make them realise and learn the difference between right and wrong.
How to resolve and remedy issues?
Parents and teachers should be cautious at the behaviour of their ward during early stages. Inorder to develop good behaviour among children,the adults in the society like parents, family members,teachers and neighbours should set a good example for them. At times of situations where punishment is necessary, parents and teachers themselves can change them by assigning works like cleaning the house, cleaning yard, trash out garbage, assigning duties like folding laundry, folding clothes, and by denying some of their special demands etc. These would not only make them responsible but also will help them to learn the difference between right and wrong in their words and actions.
