 One special thing that puzzles about English language is its pronunciation. English is unphonetic in nature. In English,a letter has various sounds in different words. Thus  learning of pronunciation becomes essential in English.

Pronunciation helps to speak English accurately and with good speech manners.It also enables to produce speech sounds. Learning pronunciation fecilitate proper listening comprehension and enable Learners to use English in a perfect manner.

Pronunciation can be modify through various techniques. Firstly, by providing good speech models to the learners. Besides, sufficient practise and maximum exposure to accurate pronunciation will help in the improvement of English pronunciation. Proper motivation and instant correction also helps in its learning. By providing quality materials of pronunciation,we can enhance pronunciation.Lastly,by improving the teacher's language efficiency and phonetics, pupils also would be there to enhance the same into an impeccable level.

Issues related to English pronunciation

Since English is an unphonetic language,it has many issues in its path of learning pronunciation. Due to the fact that same letter has many sounds in English many people find it difficult to differentiate. Influence of the mother tongue also possess a prominent role in making barriers for correct English pronunciation.some letters of mother tongue maynot be found in English and vice versa. Unwanted stress and faulty comprehension of the pronunciation of letters in different words also  stands as the result of the influence of the another language upon English.Adding extra vowels while pronunciation of words like smile,snack, special etc .are examples of mispronunciation in English.Lack of proper stress and intonation while pronouncing English affects the beauty of the language.

Causes of defective pronunciation

Lack of good speech models and good knowledge of phonetics are one of the main causes of defective pronunciation. Inadequate use of audio visual aids and lack of sufficient practise are also create problems in pronunciation. Lack of efficient teachers and sufficient motivation have a great effect on making issues in  learning pronunciation.
